The act of logging on is a sacrifice. Every time we put in that same password we’ve used since we were 11, or simply fire up the same old apps we use every day, we’re selling a little piece of our soul to the internet in exchange for entertainment, and a fleeting sense of connection. This has done some damage to the way that many of us connect with others, not least when it comes to doing this on social media. People have said some outrageous things online in their time, and they show no sign of stopping this any time soon. We have to be thankful for this, because we can get endless amounts of amusement from it. While most wouldn’t like to be on the receiving end of these conversations, there is no doubting the humor to be found in them. The touch of crazy is what keeps things interesting.
