Hallelujah, it’s the weekend. It’s been a rough week for many of us. The days leading up to the holidays can be exhausting. The social pressures, and the money issues. The lack of time and the family stress. Everyone has their own most-hated bit of the weeks before the Christmas and Chanukah holidays. For me, it’s buying gifts. My family is nearly impossible to buy gifts for. My mom always says she wants «peace and quiet.» She loves mezcal, but my Dad hates it when she drinks. She is very fussy about food and has a skin condition that prevents me from gifting her any skincare. It’s rough. Dad is almost as bad, but I’m pretty sure he’s tired of cookbooks and Szechuan ingredients. I usually end up just getting something we can all enjoy over the holiday weekend, but the agony is real. To distract myself from the pain, I often have to take little breaks to enjoy some memes. Hopefully, they’ll provide you will some respite as well.
