I wouldn’t go as far as saying that once you’ve seen one meme, you’ve seen them all. However, once you have a grasp of the five to ten basic types that tend to get popular, it’s easy to feel like you kind of know what’s coming next about 90% of the time. 

Sometimes, this can make the noble pastime of meme consumption a little boring. It doesn’t always hit the same if you feel like you know what’s coming next. That being said, other times there is something comforting about the monotony of it all. Plus, there are always those times where you get pleasantly surprised in an unexpected place.
