Boastful Male Job Applicant Shares Medical Stats on Resume, Splits Opinion of the Internet

The structure of a resume is a very personal thing. It’s not surprising, seeing as it’s basically an attempt to distill your entire professional personality onto one side of A4. The experienced hiring manager can find all kinds of hints based on this one document, and it presents us almost vulnerably — if you really think about it, how many people aside from you have ever known your entire working history?

One piece of resume-building advice that I’ve always hated is the insistence that we need to include our strengths and interests outside of work. It feels like forcing yourself to do a one person ‘fun fact’ icebreaker just so some douchebag might think you’re interesting enough to interview.

Some job applicants are all too happy to get intimate, though, as proven by a photo that has gone viral on Twitter. When one CEO shared how an applicant had chosen to provide medical stats relating to his fitness, testosterone levels, and sperm count, Twitter users were split between those who were horrified, and those who were kind of impressed. Even the infamous anti-aging rich guy got in on the act.
