In this divided world where most of us can’t seem to stop having arguments, it’s nice to find the little things that bring us together. It could be something as simple as sharing a favorite ice cream flavor, or both hating the same kind of minor annoyance. Maybe, we can even unite over something more personal: sharing the same name, for example. 

The wonders of the internet have exposed all of us to many types of people that we wouldn’t know otherwise, including those of us who share the same name. Most of us that are part of this phenomenon do little about it, aside from living with the knowledge that we’re not as special as we thought we were. However, there are small percentage of the world’s Matt Cohens that have united thanks to the medium of Instagram DM.

This was recently revealed by @Matt_D_Cohen, who shared the life updates that everyone in the name sharing group had been giving recently. This led to the discovery that the concept was more common than we might have originally thought, although not all these group chats were quite as successful. Sometimes the similarity stops with a name.
