There are several important questions you should ask somebody before you go on a first date. You want to suss out a potential partner’s hobbies, values, and career before deciding to spend a precious hour or two with them. In my humble opinion, the most important question of all is, «What is your name?» If somebody pussyfoots around this question, it is surely cause for suspicion. Women, and by women, I mean myself, love googling the people they’re going out with before stepping foot into the bar or restaurant, and for good reason! There might be mugshots galore when you look up a stranger’s name!

One dude recently came to Twitter to complain that a woman rejected him after he refused to tell her his real name. To be fair, I don’t think it’s common practice to know somebody’s legal first and last name on the first date, but I support this woman’s right to know exactly who she’s seeing.
