Memes are widely regarded as a young person thing. This makes a lot of sense, as people under 40 are the largest consumers and producers of memes by a long shot. Memes have been with us since we were teenagers, and we aren’t letting go of them anytime soon. But what about all the people over 40 who also love a good image macro or tweet screenshot? Don’t they deserve some love from the meme community as well? 

Memes made by and for older people tend to get viciously mocked online. Gen Zers call them «boomer images» and create entire Twitter accounts dedicated to mocking them. Sometimes it’s justified, but it’s essential to understand that not everybody will be updated on the latest internet trends, and that’s okay! Boomers deserve «images, videos, pieces of text, etc., typically humorous in nature, that are copied and spread rapidly by internet users, often with slight variations.» Older people deserve their own memes, and the following memes are sure to tickle somebodies funny bone.
