This story has been trending online in various forums and social platforms. It has been shared as screenshots of a feel-good story where an unknown user shares their tale of the time they were offered a raise by a benevolent employer to match their salary to new hires.

This particular thread was posted to Reddit’s r/antiwork subreddit by Redditor u/woja111.  This popular sub often deals with employment issues, workplace stories, and the social issues surrounding the current employment market and climate. 

The topic was posted with the title «Wage matching should be the norm.» It contains screenshots of a viral LinkedIn post that had 132k reactions and 1585 comments when it was screen-shotted. We can probably count, on one hand, the social content we have shared that originated from LinkedIn’s platform, but there are always surprises on the internet. 

Workers have been applauding this employer’s actions and reaffirming the thread’s titular statement that this «should be the norm.» Commenters have shared their own stories, celebrating employers who have done the same thing and blasting employers who have managed to achieve the exact opposite.
