There’s nothing quite like watching our favorite meals get prepped and eaten, so it’s no surprise that it is a particularly popular genre on TikTok. While not everyone can be as perfectly presented as Emily Mariko and her salmon rice, what these videos lack in finesse they make up for in entertainment value.

The end result looks pretty appetizing — but viewers felt like the process of making it was anything but. He might know how to do some mean deep frying, but it’s doubtful anyone is going round to this guy’s house to eat in a hurry.
