New Yorker Gets Clowned For Acting Like Nobody Else Knows What Bodegas Are

When I visited New York, I went to bodegas every day, sometimes even multiple times. As somebody who is a believer in the healing powers of visiting the store for a little treat, it was nothing short of a necessity. To an outsider, it can’t be denied that they are pretty charming — not least because they’re often home to an adorable cat. Still, it’s also a fact that the majority of stuff you can buy in one could be found in any other convenience store in another big city.

However, you wouldn’t think that to speak to some New Yorkers. There are a significant amount of residents that seem to have the honest belief that nobody who lives outside of the city has ever seen a place like it. One such person is @glennEmartin, who was teased for sharing a photo of his local bodega like it was something remarkable. You can buy Benadryl and Listerine in your local CVS, too.
