Love is a battlefield, as Pat Benatar once wisely said. What she neglected to mention was that this battlefield involves less charging the enemy lines to victory, and more hunching in the trenches waiting for whatever BS the other person is pulling to blow over. Most of us have done things that we’re not proud of in romantic relationships, but usually they’re deeds of the number blocking kind, not the «time to move to another country» kind.
