There are a lot of jobs out there that people don’t take seriously. Jobs that may seem easy to an outsider, like free money. But we would wager that nobody on Earth has ever said teaching is easy. Because it’s not. Insanely early mornings, hours grading papers and creating lesson plans, and spending your own money on supplies are just a few of the constant joys that educators have to look forward to. And we can’t forget the charms of entitled and deluded parents who think their children are God’s gift to mankind. All this pain is rewarded how? With a paltry salary. You’d think that if children are the future, and teachers are supposed to help mold them, their jobs would be compensated more fairly. But nope. Instead they’re earning an amount that can’t even begin to make up for inflation. The only way to get through it all is with therapy, venting to colleagues and close friends, and of course, with a sense of humor. Memes happen to be our favorite way of dealing with pain.
