The mythologization of Monday in our society is a strong and unstoppable power. Even for those of us out there who are unemployed, or work more unsociable hours, the idea of the five day work week is so heavily drummed into us that everybody is susceptible to the Sunday scaries at some point or another. While it’s something we started to get used to from the days when we went to school, it really solidifies when you know that you have a paid job to be getting back to in the morning. The trials and tribulations of working are many, and it’s fair to say that in most roles, the so-called benefits don’t always make up for the BS you get put through on a daily basis. That’s why we have so many memes about our working lives, because sometimes, complaining on the group chat you have with your co-workers simply doesn’t cut it. At least the internet understands.
