Uncle Is Amused by Niece’s Name for Aquariums, Starts Thread on How Accurately Kids Misname Things

Little kids have a reputation for not being the greatest with language. What with all the dumb, complex grammatical rules and 171,146 English words (and counting), you can’t really blame them for failing to be walking dictionaries. That being said, this means that children are nothing if not creative when it comes to their words. The average curious preschooler has an ability to mash vocabulary together in a way that would make many poets weep.

This has been proven in a strangely beautiful thread started by @daddyfatstacks, after he recounted watching his young niece call an aquarium a «water zoo». What followed was a charming comment section full of people giving their best examples of kids jumping over the language barrier with some truly great combinations of words. It makes you think that adults should try to be jazzier in how they speak, although that might start to get a bit confusing.
