Now, I’m largely against the deification of any public figures. It’s much too far a leap to idolize an individual based on their public persona. Look at Elon Musk as an example. A few years back, the internet treated him as some sort of real-life Tony Stark. An individual who was fighting for a brighter technological future for the world. But guess what? He ended up being an unhinged, cringe, attention-seeking megalomaniac. Never take famous people at face value. That being said, I’m willing to make a slight exception for Keanu Reeves.

I enjoy Reeves as an actor. The Bill and Ted movies are great in their own right, the original Matrix is incredible, and John Wick is one of the greatest contemporary action series. He also seems to be a genuinely good guy. His persona is entirely wholesome, he supports children’s health charities to a great extent, and he treats his fans well. I’m not going to act like the rest of the internet and say he’s some sort of saint figure, but he’s good in my book. Or at least he has a really good publicist.
