If you’re a fan of The Marvels, I’ve got some rotten news. The recent MCU release had the worst domestic opening weekend of any Marvel movie, making a paltry $47M. I don’t know about y’all, but I’m a little nervous about the future of the MCU in a post-Disney+ series world. It feels like there’s even more lore that you have to know to understand anything. Like, no offense to the committed fanboys, but if I have to watch three movies and a Disney+ series to understand a new release, I’m probably not going to watch that new release until it’s on Disney+ itself. 

I don’t want to blame Brie Larson or any of the actresses leading this movie for its financial failure. It’s clear that Marvel has been in between a rock and a hard place since Endgame, and I can’t wait to see how whatever phase we’re in turns out.
