25+ of the Best Dungeons and Dragons Memes of the Week (March 8, 2024)

This year marks the 50-year anniversary of the invention of Dungeons and Dragons. That’s crazy to think about. Why does it still feel like a young person’s game? A lot of the dorks (a term I use with the utmost love) who first played it back in 1976 are probably grandparents by now. Doesn’t that feel kind of incongruous– to have a grandparent that played DnD? That would be so fun though, to have a generation-spanning game going on, passing Dungeon Master on from parent to child. Your family could become a dynasty of DnD and you could battle other families. The lore of the game could become part of your real-life lore.

At the very least, it’s a pretty good idea for a movie. It could be kind of like Jumanji. But enough of my crackpot film ideas, and on with the memes. Show them to your Druid grandfather. It’ll take him back to the 70s.
