Snoopy is one of the most iconic cultural figures of the 20th century, and even 24 years out from the end of Peanuts comics, he’s still a part of all of our lives. One of my favorite things about Snoopy is that he floats above all the drama that engulfs the lives of Charlie Brown, Linus, Lucy, and the rest of the gang. His dog status makes him an outsider; with that, he’s forced to find companionship in the most unlikely places (particularly with his bird bestie, Woodstock). He is also the master of fantasy, pretending to be a World War I pilot and a cool sunglasses-wearing college student all in one breath. Even if you didn’t read every Peanuts comic in existence when you were a kid (your loss), you can appreciate Snoopy as the most adorable and relatable cartoon dog in existence.
