Seizing the day, living in the moment, making lemonade out of lemons… all ways to say that we must live for today, and we must do it fast. I think this is very sound advice if you ask me. Life is lived one day at a time, so you have to make the most of it. But some days it’s just not in you. Some days you wake up and start strategizing how to do as little as possible to get through the day. You weasel your way through the bare minimum. You’re on autopilot. 

There’s nothing inherently wrong with this. Not every day can be the day that you cure diseases, write a novel, and finally tell that girl you love her. No, some days will inevitably be spent doing not that much. But this is where the beauty of the little things shines through. When petting your dog is as good as it gets.
