To me, the best part of a McDonald’s, or frankly any fast food meal is the sauce. Whether it’s honey mustard, ranch, barbecue, or whatever the heck makes up Chick-fil-A sauce, that’s the thing I’m coming back for. Sure, the nugget/fry/biscuit/burger has a lot to offer on its own. You need a salty, neutral base upon which to experiment. But the sauce is why I came in the first place. It’s what excites me. It’s what turns a guilty pleasure meal into a type of pleasure we have no need to be guilty about. Sauce is flavor. Sauce is dignity. Sauce clothes the shameful emptiness of the vessel. 

No wonder some of us get lost in it sometimes. The sauce is transfixing, seductive, and seemingly endless. It’s easy to get too caught up in its power. These memes, varied though they may be, have the sauce. And I think you’re going to want to double dip.
