There are a few things at a party that grind an introvert’s gears. For starters, we hate being socially babied. We’re adults, you don’t need to goo-goo-ga-ga talk to me like I’m unable to understand the English language. Just because we don’t get chatty for the sake of being chatty, doesn’t mean we’re in-comprehensive. 

Secondly, when an extrovert has you cornered and tries to force you to join in the conversation with an ice breaker, that’s gotta be a friendship ender. Anyone who’s ever befriended an introvert knows that there’s nothing more sacred than the avoidance of group introductions. And they wonder why we’re always giving them excuses to avoid these strange social rituals… When the thing you’re most excited about when arriving at a house party is the idea of returning home to your comfort zone, then you might just be one of us– an introvert.
