We all have that friend or family whose stories are way longer than they need to be. They’ll go off on unnecessary tangents like what they were wearing that day or another story they were reminded of halfway through telling the first one. Some people are not naturally gifted storytellers. But what’s more annoying than a bad storyteller?  A story repeater. Uncles and oblivious friends are especially prone to this trap. They’ll start all wide-eyed and excited into a story that you’ve heard them tell countless times. Then you either have to embarrass them by pretending it’s new to you or sit through the same old yarn. 

But even worse than these two is the phenomenon of watching your friend tell a story to a new group of people and hearing them embellish to make the story better. You know the truth because either you were there or you’ve heard it before, and now you’re watching them lie. It’s so awkward. Luckily these memes have one story to tell, and it’s a simple one: laughter.
