I grew up with that song, and I still find myself humming the uncanny tune when the holidays are approaching. I remember feeling so sorry for that poor reindeer back in the day when I didn’t yet understand that the world was not a very nice place. I still feel sorry for him, obviously, but now I’m more like, ‘Haha, you have to suffer like the rest of us!’

Okay so that was a joke, obviously, I am not celebrating anything other than positive vibes. Be nice. I will admit I may be a bit bitter, because I have to drive for many, many hours to get to my mom’s big, old Victorian house, where I will be celebrating Christmas with my siblings, who are only sort of annoying. I should be more grateful, but I won’t pretend to be a martyr when I’m not. Happy holidays!
