My, my, what a Christmas befell me… Driving 9 hours to my mother’s home, meeting all my siblings who I haven’t seen in a year, and getting that ‘I miss you’ text from my ex because he always gets emotional around the holidays…

As promised, I come to you with delicious tidbits about my own dear family Christmas dinner that went totally haywire after one of my sister’s boyfriend’s got on one knee as dessert was being brought into the room by my stressed-out mother who put too much honey in the turkey, resulting in it tasting like the actual dessert. Everyone cheered except my sister, who it seems does NOT want to marry her boyfriend. She did not say yes, and it was as awkward as the videos you watch at 3 am of failed proposals. That being said, Christmas gifts were less of a fail, because I got a $200 gift card to Target, which is actually kind of nice. Last year I got socks.
