Ask anybody who knows what a meme is what makes a good meme, and most would answer some kind of variation on the theme of it being entertaining or funny. Were you to ask a load of people what makes a meme funny, though, and you would get a whole variety of different and conflicting answers. What we consider to be humorous can be affected by a whole range of factors, from age, to upbringing, to how much of our brains have been rotted by the internet. 

Just like with everything else in life, we are never going to be able to agree on the perfect meme. At the same time, most of us are exposed to similar types of content a lot of the time. The best we can hope for is to find a happy medium of things that we can all kind of enjoy, just maybe some more than others.
