I sure am glad that I’m not an architect. You have to think about so many different things, even when you’re designing something as humble as a house. The result could be a livable, admirable work of art — or, as with much of middle America, it could be yet another take on McMansion hell.

When he took to Twitter complaining of an «inaccessible landing» design feature he often saw in the foyers of many modern homes, he queried how to make the most of this pointless nook. It was his lucky day, as countless people were ready and waiting with their quirky ideas that soon snowballed into a daft Photoshop meme. If this viral post proved anything, it’s that this kind of design feature is best reserved for a tricky level in a video game.
