«Did boomers come home from college and face that?»: Gen Zers and millennials discuss the perils of the job market

It’s easy to feel disheartened with the job market when you’re struggling to get a job. People can tell you over and over again, «The economy is booming! Now is a great time to be looking for a job! You’re lucky you didn’t graduate during a recession!» but if you still have yet to secure said «easy to get» job, that can feel difficult to believe. The job market has completely changed over the past 25 years, with virtually all applications happening in the digital sphere. You can apply to more jobs than ever, but the bad news is so can everyone else. With the emergence of remote work, you’re no longer just competing with young professionals in your city. You’re competing with people from all over the world! 

A handful of Gen Zers recently shared their tribulations with finding a job on Twitter, and although their struggle might not be as severe as millennials and Gen Xers were during their respective post-grad recessions, they make a compelling case.
