Rude and annoying people are a long term epidemic in every kind of customer facing job, but food service has to be one of the sectors that get the hardest time dealing with them. Those who are hangry and/or caffeine deprived on top of having a dismissive attitude to those who are there to solve that can be real jerks.

It’s no wonder that so many workers in the industry get fed up with them, as illustrated by @plz_stfu0. Bemoaning the wide range of off-putting customers she has to deal with working at the drive thru in a TikTok, an unfortunate number of people seemed able to relate. Even better, there were plenty of other drive thru workers who were all too happy to list all the types of customer that she hadn’t impersonated. While we all have our bad days, it costs $0 to not make the life of a minimum wage worker harder because of it. Perhaps more of us should keep that in mind.
