Entitled College Graduate Gets Roasted for Complaining That Entry Level Marketing Jobs Pay Less Than Being a Server

As part of the generation that grew up during the 2008 financial crisis, I’ve spent most of my life with the creeping suspicion that I may never be better off than my parents. This feeling kind of softened the blow of doing one degree that any tech bro would sneer at as unemployable, then another relating to an industry that is notoriously unstable and poorly paid (won’t somebody think of my student loans?).

In work I’ve always took what I could get and as somebody without a trust fund, I accepted that this was going to involve some time in the trenches of the miserable minimum wage. It was the same deal for many of my friends.

I would have assumed that many young people feel similarly, but I’ve recently been exposed to one TikToker who has rudely set the record straight. The college graduate attracted the wrong kind of attention for complaining that being a server paid more than the jobs she had been applying to that required her business marketing degree.

Despairing over the fact that her purely academic background shut her out of immediately landing a six figure role, she cussed out «corporate America» for championing education over that all-important work experience. This caused confusion on Twitter, where viewers were not impressed with her aggressive naivety. Surely it’s common knowledge by now that finding your first grad job is difficult?
