I have to admit that I don’t care for the refreshing taste of Coca Cola all that much. I don’t dislike it, and I’ll gladly slam a Diet Coke (can only) when I need a minor caffeine hit and I don’t feel like a coffee. In terms of getting genuine pleasure out of it as a beverage, though, I’m pretty indifferent. It’s not my go-to soda on a hot day, and I don’t enjoy it as a mixer with any kind of liquor.

Perhaps I am taking a risk by putting this out there, because I know that few drinks inspire adoration and loyalty like the famous brown nectar. Still, I feel like I must stick to my truth, even in the face of all these memes that celebrate its existence. It didn’t become one of the most famous brands in the world for no reason, and Pepsi will never live up to its hype.
