Family drama can get messy. Throw any sort of inheritance issue into the mix and you have a recipe for disaster. Greed shouldn’t get in the way of familial relationships, but, unfortunately, people are money hungry by nature. I suppose that’s cynical; it’s just quite often true.

In a post to the /r/amitheasshole subreddit, user /u/Pretend_Canary_9411 described a particularly awful situation. To make a long story somewhat short, the user discovered that her sister had been sleeping with her fiance. Reasonably, she cut both individuals out of her life. When her parents took her sister’s side, she cut them out as well.

The user’s grandfather was the only family member who supported her throughout the deal. As he grew sick, she took care of him in his final days. After his passing, the user and her family discovered the immense inheritance left solely for the user. His final will was that the money was not to be shared with the family. Obviously, the family took issue. Despite refusing to support their daughter throughout a traumatic ordeal and refusing to apologize, the user’s parents demanded that she split the money amongst the family.
