Insecure Husband Refuses to Call Six-Time Published & Award-Winning Wife An Author

Any of you remember that r/AmITheAsshole post about the dude who insisted his wife call him a pilot? Well, the whole point was that he had literally never flown a plane. The delusion, in that situation, was palpable. And the same goes for a Reddit post we saw this past week. It’s just that the roles and delusions have been reversed.

Twitter user @akatepockett shared today’s ludicrous post with her followers, expressing that she had no words. And we really can’t blame her. The author of the AITA post explains that she and her husband have been together for 15 years, and that they had gotten to talking about our friend the delusional «pilot.» She adds that she told her hubby that she would like to be described as a government employee (her 9-5 occupation) but also an author. To explain that desire, she shares the following:

«To be clear, I am 31, I wrote 7 books and 6 of them are published. I have 4 publishers in Canada. I sometimes do book fairs and presentations. »

Anyone in their right mind would agree: This woman is an author. Unfortunately, however, her husband doesn’t see it that way. He claims that because she is not an author «for a living.» He didn’t stop their either. He went on to say that he’d be upset if somebody told him that they were an author and he found out that it was «just a hobby.»

The dismissiveness is honestly offensive. In the Reddit post, OP asks if she is wrong. But this time the post didn’t go viral because of a hobbyist’s delusions. It went viral because her husband seems to be threatened by her success.  Needless to say, the replies are full of people coming to OP’s support – pointing out that she’s actually a very successful author, and, of course, that her husband is a POS. Both of which we are here for.
