Everybody has a different attitude when they see a bug flying around their vicinity. Some people react in terror, others nonchalantly swat it away, but I go into full kill mode. I don’t see myself as violent, but I am a murderess in the fly world. Some of my past roommates liked to get Tupperware in an attempt to save the bug and bring it outside, but I did not have the empathy for that. I am not afraid of bugs. I am bigger than bugs. I can easily kill a bug, and that is my gift to my friends, roommates, and the world at large. 

Although I do empathize with Jeff Goldblum’s character in The Fly, Geena Davis should’ve killed him long before she did. Being a half-man-half-fly is no way for somebody to live. If there’s one thing we can learn from that movie, it’s that a Willy Wonka-style teleportation machine is not a technology worth putting a human person through under any circumstances. At least one of the monkeys survived.
