‘My kids are my favorite people to hangout with’: Parents share their positive experiences with parenthood

Parenthood can get a bad reputation on the internet. I feel like there are two camps of «parent influencers» roaming about: The Twitter moms who make jokes and commiserate about being a parent and the Instagram Reels moms who act like parenthood is the most uncomplicated, intuitive, beautiful thing in the world. In reality, neither of these perspectives paints a complete picture of what parenthood is actually like. If you’re always tweeting about your kids waking you up at 5 AM on a weekend and finding Cheerios in every orifice of your house, you’re only getting half the story. If you’re wearing sundresses and posting on Instagram about the mystical wonder of breastfeeding, that’s an incomplete narrative. While it can be pretty fun to complain, some parents on Twitter could stand to see more positive content about rearing children, which is why one mom specifically requested parents to send her some stories of positive parental experiences. They didn’t disappoint.
