It comes as no surprise that many minimum wage jobs are hard work. Being run off your feet for not enough compensation can be a demoralizing struggle — especially when the horror that is the general public are involved. It’s fair to say that many who have worked in these kinds of positions have probably cried in the backroom at least once, to the extent that it’s kind of scary how normalized it is. However, not everyone goes as far as to share their emotional struggle with the workplace online, as happened with one Starbucks barista earlier this week. Their complaint was mocked by former Trump assistant Sebastian Gorka, but not everybody was so quick to criticize the stressed young employee. While some insisted on mentioning people they thought had it harder, others sympathized with his upset. Perhaps everyone should strive for better working conditions, no matter the perceived difficulty of their job.
