A lot of people these days make a big deal about dating with intention. Those looking for romance are now meant to have a defined list of qualities that they expect in a partner, and to immediately discredit anyone who doesn’t have the same relationship goals that you do. 

This isn’t a terrible thing to pursue, but it’s not a foolproof way of finding a relationship. It has also inspired a lot of dating app users to display a lot of self-defensive douchebaggery, among the many other unpleasant habits that they are prone to practicing. 

Yep, if there’s one thing that Tinder and the like seem to show us, it’s that a lot of us are hopelessly broken when it comes to the romance department. Success stories happen, but the outlook is pretty bleak. While not all of the examples below are terrible, they’re still representative of a dating world that is awkward at best.
