The Funniest Disney Memes of the Week (January 28, 2024)

When was the last time a Disney movie was an all-encompassing cultural phenomenon? I’m not talking about Star Wars or Marvel or any of those nice lucrative brands Disney has snatched up in recent memory: I’m talking about Disney TV and movies that are intrinsically tied to the mouse.

In my humble opinion, the last honest-to-goodness Disney phenomenon was Frozen, which came out ten years ago. Maybe it was because I was still a kid and was on the pulse of what was happening with Disney, but I could feel that that movie would be an iconic hit that would last for generations when I first saw it in the theater in 2013. Maybe it’s the rise of Disney+, the fall of the Disney Channel, or Disney’s increased reliance on Star Wars and Marvel for profit, but the animation department just hasn’t been hitting the same way as they did 30 years ago. Either that, or I’m just an adult now.
