It seems like only yesterday that non-Zoomers were getting confused over this confounded new short-form video app that teenagers were apparently using to showcase dance routines. How quickly times change. I hate to break it to you all, but musical.ly merged with TikTok over half a decade ago now. 

The rest, of course, is history. It has become almost impossible to imagine what the landscape of the internet would look like without just about everything that emerges from the clock app, and many people wouldn’t want to try. 

That being said, it isn’t always sunshine and rainbows. Like many platforms that have come before it, TikTok has its fair share of unsavory users and silly trends. That doesn’t stop it from being a very entertaining way to waste a few hours, though. In the examples below we’ve condensed the process somewhat, so you don’t have to get sucked in to the algorithm directly.
