Want to know something depressing? There were a blissful few decades in the 20th century when bedbug infestations were all but eradicated, thanks to the invention of chemical pesticides. By the 90s, though, these nightmare insects had developed enough immunity to start becoming a real problem again.

Many people are terrified at the idea of bedbugs, and with good reason. They are notoriously difficult to stamp out, and they make your home life utterly miserable. Reading about how Paris is struggling with this awful pest in the middle of its Fashion Week, I can’t help but feel a little itchy. I think would have a legitimate breakdown if I ever found out I had gross, tiny parasites living in my mattress. 

Seeing as I love nothing more than indulging my paranoia, it’s time to enjoy a selection of bedbug memes. If we make them humorous, perhaps they will become less scary.
