Have you ever seen a dog on the street that you just can’t help but say hello to? I am such a perpetrator of this. I will say nothing to the owner, and go straight for the dog and start whispering all sorts of sweet nothings. I wonder if the owners ever get annoyed that nobody says hello to them. But you have to be prepared for that if you’re gonna walk around with a cute dog. 

But having a cute dog is also a great icebreaker. Take them to the dog park, and make friends with the other dog parents. Have a picture of yourself with a dog on your dating app profile and watch the messages roll in. And if all else fails and you can’t find a human companion, you’ll always have your dog.
