As we barrel toward the holiday season, I have stronger and stronger desires to curl up with a cup of hot chocolate and a good film. And what says Christmas quite like face-sucking aliens? Hey, I’m no purist. Whatever brings you holiday cheer is up to you. 

Are there any sci-fi holiday movies? Some of the most beloved ones do have an element of science fiction to them, whether it’s a reindeer with a glowing nose or a mystical angel that makes you see the world as if you had never been born. I don’t think anyone would truly classify It’s a Wonderful Life as a sci-fi (or more aptly, fantasy) movie, but it’s worth considering. Perhaps Gremlins is the only one that truly fits the bill of Christmas and sci-fi. I’m sure I’m missing something, though, so forgive me. Well, whatever it is that warms your bones this December, sleigh on. And enjoy these sci-fi memes in the meantime.
