Try as we might, most of us spend a lot of our time waiting for things. We wait for packages to be delivered, for important dates to arrive, and to board planes. If we want to get deep with it, we can also be guilty of waiting for our lives to take a turn for the better instead of making the changes needed for that to happen. 

There are many types of waiting, and all of them involve borrowing time from the present. That doesn’t make the future come along any faster, but you know what can give the illusion of that? Distracting ourselves with mindless entertainment, of course. Memes are here to make sure we stay centered on the here and now, whether we’re waiting on something or simply prone to doing too much daydreaming. While they might be a procrastination tool, it is a far from useless one.
