To create the definitive list of the most impactful memes of all time would be a difficult task. They have just been around for so long and developed at such a rapid rate that it would be inevitable that something important would be missed out, and it would 100% annoy a substantial minority of people who spend too much time online as well. 

The stress of it almost doesn’t bear thinking about, so that’s not what we’re going to do. Instead, we are going to take the usual route of presenting a random selection of memes whose primary purpose is mindless entertainment. They aren’t going to claim that they cover the broad spectrum of every kind of internet joke, but there are enough of them to feel like you have had a satisfactory portion.
