I have experienced the full spectrum of attractiveness over the course of my adult life. I might not have been such a dog that I was a 1, and I’ve yet to be a perfect 10, but I feel like I’ve been everything in the middle. When I was 19, I had terrible skin, horrible clothes that were huge on me, a greasy bob, and I gained like 15 pounds. I was devastatingly unattractive, and I knew it. One accutane prescription, a bleach blonde dye job, and a year in isolation later, I finally emerged as what one might call «a hottie.» Dudes were coming up to me at bars, and not just to tell me they liked my humorous t-shirt. It was kind of disillusioning to discover how much better you get treated when you look good, but I wasn’t about to go back into obscurity.
