Their skyrocketing popularity during this century means that there are more of us out there who have tattoos than ever. Unfortunately, this also means that there are more crappy tattoos out there than ever, too. A mixture of cowboy artists, deranged designs and God forbid, those people who give out free stick and pokes in the corner of grimy house parties has left many people with ink that is truly painful on the eye, as well as on the skin.

This isn’t to say that an objectively ‘bad’ tattoo has to be a massive regret to the person it’s inked on. It is your body, after all. However, there are countless examples of body art on the internet where it seems almost impossible to reserve judgment. Why would you let somebody do that to you? Beauty might be subjective, but it’s hard to feel that way looking at some of these creations.
