A Shifty Selection of 32 Memes

The internet can be a pretty messed up place, and I’m not just talking about the stuff that is straight-up illegal. If you sit down and think about it, we have no idea the backstory behind most of the content we consume, and sometimes even what message it’s trying to get across. We’re more gullible than we’d like to think we are.

Not even memes can be a safe haven for this suspiciousness. They can be used to push agendas or spread false information, and they’re a much more entertaining way of doing that, too. I can’t promise that all the memes in this list are 1000% true or real, but they should be mostly harmless. Part of the reason that using the internet for recreation can be dangerous is that we don’t want to think too hard about it. Well, the one thing I can say is that you shouldn’t have to do that here.
