Birthdays are the one day a year when you should be allowed to do whatever you want. I’m not talking about Purge-style crimes against society, but I mean getting to spend the day however you want to. We don’t get to do that any other time of the year, so we should take advantage of it on the day we can. Everyone has different philosophies on birthdays, though.

Some people see it as just another day and don’t want to be celebrated. Others are so touchy about birthdays that if you somehow fail to celebrate them enough, you will be deleted from their contacts. But most people just want to have a fun day doing activities they enjoy. And that doesn’t usually include going to work. But apparently, some people think that’s childish.
