Best Wins from March Madness this Past Weekend

The largest NCAA college basketball tournament, March Madness, is in full swing and this past weekend was no slouch for basketball aficionados across the country. The fury of the tournament offered some incredible games this weekend along with upsets that came out of nowhere. The number 4 team in the South pool, Virginia, was taken out by the number 13 team, Furman. This game was electric and, while Furman lost in the next round, progressing past the first round was a feat in itself. Next up, the number 1 team in the East pool, Purdue, was beaten by the 16th team, Fairleigh Dickinson University. This was a huge upset and left everyone googling who the heck FDU was.

In the Midwest pool, Houston was ranked number one when March Madness began and is sitting pretty in the Sweet Sixteen round, waiting to go against the University of Miami. The biggest shock in the West pool was the number 1 team, Kansas, being knocked out by the eighth-place team, Arkansas. Arkansas took the victory with a one-point win and an incredible end to a very competitive game.

The best parts of March Madness are definitely the unexpected victories from teams coming out of seemingly nowhere to win. Here are some of the best upsets from this past weekend:
