I am part of the silent (but deadly) majority who thinks farts are funny. I was a huge South Park fan growing up, and so many of my favorite episodes included Terrance and Phillip, the fictional Canadian comedy duo who are obsessed with farting on each other. If you’ve never seen a Terrance and Phillip sketch, this is about how they go.

Phillip:  Say Terrance, what did the what did the Spanish priest say to the Iranian gynecologist?

Terrance:  I don’t know, Phillip, what?

Phillip: * farts *

Both: AHAHHAHA

While intentionally farting on someone for comedic effect can be hilarious in a cartoon, it’s way less fun when it’s real life. One woman recently took to Reddit to share the harrowing tale of her boyfriend farting in her face in front of his family during his birthday dinner. While that sounds like it could potentially still be funny, it was decidedly unfunny for the diva who got farted on.
