The ocean covers more than 70% of the Earth’s surface. That’s a lot of salty water, and us feeble, earthbound humans have only explored a tiny percentage of that. Perhaps this is one of the reasons that many people are fascinated by the mysteries of the sea, and all the creatures that live in it. Nature is never wackier than when inventing ways for living things to survive in its most unwelcoming conditions, and the ocean provides plenty of that. The stuff we know about is crazy, so who knows what’s happening in all those places that remain undiscovered?
